Streets moves to 0-5 after a 12-8 hard-fought contest with Olympic Club. Streets knocked the Monkey down with 8 goals and stand-out playing from all areas on the field, particularly our goalie, Brandon Bozek! Help provided by Chico alums, Dub All-Stars & Windsurfers, and intensity throughout all 4 quarters from the whole team. At one point in the first half, we were up 4-1, but someone arrived with SF Dragon gloves and All-American cred and we went into the half down 6-4. The second half highlights?? After a long-pole goal from Hogan, who took a hit from 3 players on the shot, Bozek, on a clear, decides 'he' wants some action and proceeds to take one of the first goalie shots SOL has ever seen, just missing the cage left, he sprinted back to his cage and almost passed out.
Now, onto the dirt.....Last year, SOL hosted O-Club after our game, provided a buffet and all the beer they could drink at our Pub in downtown Sacramento. Nice, huh?
Since we travel to Sausalito, all we get is a keg of beer if we're lucky. We weren't lucky. After being informed by O that the guy who was supposed to bring the keg didn't show up, we still waited for some brainiac to walk across the field to the liquor store and pony-up for some brews......nada, denied.
What is to be made of this esteemed Athletic Club from San Francisco?? Are the gas prices affecting their Bentleys? I guess when you have players named 'Ducky' , you don't have to ask......we'll see you guys next year and please ponder pawning your Dragon gear for some alcohol next time.
